How did you/your team interpret the theme?
Stations continually change the player's color to the corresponding station colors. This in turn changes the aspects of the player's movement options (ex. high red may give the player quicker movement but a lower jump, while low red has slower movement but a high jump)

How was your/your team's experience in this jam?
The jam was really fun! Learned a bunch about some new things such as local co-op.
The game though was unfortunately heavily cut back due to time constraints

Content Warnings
The downloadable version of the game seems to have a bug that has some rapidly flashing lights on station switching

Characters are insane! Really good job on the art, it is spot on. The gameplay is simple and fun (Want an extra challenge? Play two players at once)

Music keeps you in the game and the lighting also is well done.

The only thing that bugs me is that some missiles move relatively to the camera and that just doesn't look good to me, it makes them feel very static. Overall, solid experience!

Nice little infinite runner game (or at least I think it is infinite)!

The art is GORGEOUS!

Music is awesome. Reminds me of Megaman 2 sound track. Love it! The game needs a a few sound effects to really elevate it to the next level. As well as a little more variety to keep it fresh. But, I really enjoyed it.

Great job!

Pretty cool, I really enjoy the visuals. definitely my favorite part!

Would love tighter controls on the inputs and more feedback on collisions and button presses

An options menu? IN A GAME JAM GAME? Never seen before!

The graphics are awesome obviously! Music seems fitting, I like it.

At character selection you display the keys for the US layout of keyboards. It's probably horribly difficult to implement, but it's confusing to have to press Z when your keyboard has a differnet layout and the button is actually mapped to A. Maybe allowing clicking for selection would be an easy work around.

I feel like this game would easily turn into something completely amazing if only two things changed

  • Character movement - you are probably using a physics based controller? Jump height feels odd to me, so does gravitational force and also movement in general. I would suggest switching from using a physics engine for moving to directly modifying the position of the sprite for snappy movement. You can also tweek gravity and other stuff this way.
  • Feedback - especially when getting hit, but also for jumping and landing

Awesome work!

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah the controls are like they are since I was going to add control remapping. Unfortunately ran out of time to do so though.

The character movement changes based on your colors. Theres one side of red that has much quicker movement and a lower jump height but yeah the acceleration approach for the other end probably wasn't the best. Was basically just a quick band aid solution cause I ran out of time to add it changing between  different mechanics(gliding, double jump, etc)

Definitely agree for the feedback, had some particles, sound effects and more animations planned but didn't manage to finish them

Good work. The only thing that doesn't feel right is the distance covered - the scenery scale makes it looks as though you're running much further than the final figure!

Developer(+2)

Thanks! Yeah I probably could have measured the distance better
