  • I wanted to like this game so much more than I actually did! :/ Once we got a grasp of the main mechanic, it became a lot more enjoyable. I think there are two main issues: the lack of feedback with the loop circle (it's not clear where you should place it, or that it "pulls you in", or how far it can pull you in from), and the overly punitive levels. If I didn't die so often in the first level actually, I might have experimented more and gotten a grasp on the loop mechanic more quickly. If those issues were fixed, this would make for an extremely fun mobile / touch game! Overall it's still very impressive for a jam game, congrats :)
  • I'm definitely starting to see a distinct style for sugarsores' games. It's great to see you teaming up with Alivedrive this time! As usual I am impressed by the amount of content found in the entry. At first we had a lot of difficulty figuring out how the rings worked (we almost gave up), but then we finally realized that the alligator is pulled in the direction of the ring. I think this can be clarified by showing that the rings has some pulling force visually. This can be done with particles effects or animated arrows, etc... Most levels can also be cheesed by flying over top, so adding some kind of limit so that players must engage with your intended level design would be good. Overall great job team! P.S. This would port well to the phone

Had real fun playing this entry! Creating wind turbines / gravity rings makes quite some fun. And having an alligator fly through them bouncing off the walls is nice to look at :)

The visuals are nice, but what I miss is that everything snaps together. Some elements have shadows (alligator, trees, ring) while others seem to be either fully lit (fish, all particle effects) or fully in darkness (ground). The water seems to have an gradient while everything else is flat. The eye seem to be drawn to the mushroom bases (glowing in yellow) while they are not that important. The splashes of the water have the color of the glows instead of the water. I think adding a vignette wouldn't hurt.

The gameplay feels like a fresh mixture of Flappy Bird and Angry Birds :D
Makes lots of fun and a really great work from you! Entertainment: 5 ✯/✯

Thanks for playing and your critique! The art was gonna buckshotted into the levels at the last second haha, but all of the things you say definitely make sense!

I had a lot of fun with this one. The mechanic is pretty solid, but there were some playability issues that might be easy to solve.

I  kept mis-guessing the distance the gator would launch through a nearby hoop.  a visual indicator if the mouse is in the gator's launch range would be great to prevent misfires like that. and when I was moving quickly, it was pretty hard to place rings due to the camera moving.  Maybe pausing/slowing the camera scroll while the player is holding down the mouse button and creating a ring could help with that?

otherwise, great art, mechanics, and submission in general!

Truuuue! You just gave me some solid ideas for a post jam bug fix!

Interesting movenent mechanic. I struggled a bit to get used to it but it's so cool to shoot a crocodyle up in the air! Very nice landscape too.

That's some quality right there! You guys did a great job with this submission, feels like this could be a great mobile game... A game to slay Flappy Bird? Who knows. I wish though you could limit the radius at which you can create the rings (think of it as a bubble around the crocy) cause I couldn't beat first level no matter what constantly making rings quite a bit outside of the zone (hence why reminded me of Flappy Bird). Good stuff!

Limiting the radius could definitely be done, but I was thinking the player would want to plan out their moves. That being said I dont think they do and more so just react lol- so maybe I will add this bubble.

Thanks for playin!!
