Now this one, I struggled with. I like the graphics of the rocket and the gas tank and the sounds are also really nice. The difficulty was a bit too much for me though. It's pretty tough that the second enemy that shows up is the boss. It can kill in 3 hits, and the amount of fuel you get from the rarely spawning enemies is very limited. And the ship moves just so... so... slowly. My 4k screen could be messing things up, because of scaling, so it's a bit of a shame :/

I totally get it, the game is really unbalanced xD I know that it's really overwhelming for players, but sadly, we only managed to implement one "bossfight", so we made it a bit harder. Me and the guy who I coded the game with have little to no experience in gamedev/gamedesign, so we decided to take part in a game jam (we're also currently working on a bigger project) to get a project done in general. I'm glad you played it and liked the art/sounds though, and I'm sorry about the scaling part, I made the UI for 1920x1080 res instead of an aspect ratio (which was my bad)

Don't worry, we all start with no experience. I hope my harsh criticism wasn't too harsh - I remember my first jam entry being absolute unplayable garbage, but you definitely get better at it over time. Best of luck!

Fun little game and good concept for the increased fuel with money! I found it pretty tricky to avoid the block at the start, but that would get easier with time! One small thing I noticed was the fuel bar can go off the left of the screen if it gets below zero,  but all minor stuff considering it was a week! I really liked the art you did as well :) Great job!

If you get a chance any feedback on my game would be much appreciated!

Cheers

Hey, thanks for your feedback! I'm really glad you enjoy it and I'll make sure to check out yours as well. But I do have one question on this note: when did the fuel bar go below zero? I've tried fixing it for several paths to get there and there error seemed to have disappeared (before the jam deadline). So if you could tell me when the error occured (e.g. after being hit by a ghost) I would really appreaciate it. Thanks! :)

There are some issues with the game design and the sounds are to low. The art was pretty nice. I would’ve been okay with the game being a little shorter, sometimes is better a quick and nice experience.

Finishing a game in one week is pretty hard so good job on that!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on that! I basically have no experience at all in this field (game design) and I'll make sure to focus on that aspect more in the future. And I wasn't sure whether the volume was fine but I didn't want to blast the players' ears as there is no option to adjust the sounds in game, so I kinda just went with a low volume level, but I guess it was acutally way too low here. Thanks for your feedback on that too

There's a lot of questionable game design here, but overall I can't say much without the finished product. A lot of the design seems against the player, which is fine, but it crosses the point of feeling unfair.

yeah, we didn't manage to implement much of the originally planned gameplay, so we tried to at least make the bossfight hard enough for players not to just to finish the game in 2 minutes and then it's over xD this was our first jam and stuff so sorry if the game design kinda sucks (we already presumed that, we were just wanting to get out some kind of finished game for the jam at this point)

*other than that, thanks for playing
