Nice job for a first bevy experience! I like the idea of movement causing damage to the player, although as a result I ended up basically not moving at all most of the time. It might be nice to try having movement work without damaging you, but provide a “sprint” option that damages the player or something like that?

Movement speed tied to health is interesting too – at first I was confused why I was going so slow, but then I reread the description and realized. It could be interesting to experiment with the inverse (slow to start, fast as your health depletes) since it might result in some more interesting late-game play instead of feeling like you’re “doomed” once your health gets too low.

Hope you had fun making this and learning about Bevy!

Not bad for a first effort!

I found the hitboxes to be very unforgiving. Dying with ~10 empty pixels visibly between you and your enemy is no fun.

I sort of liked the slower pace. Maybe a bit of a knockback effect would have been nice. Simple SFX for the weapon would have helped a lot, I think.

Also... what am I?

Really nice for a first game in bevy !!! I feel like to movement is very slow. It's not very actionable. But very nice mechanic of side-effect.

Nicely done! The idea is cool, would love to see it expanded :) Looking forward to your game in Bevy Jam #4, I'm sure it'll be ever better :)

Only one piece of thing that could be better: movement speed, felt like I was moving through molasses :D Other than that, I think you did a great job for your first game!
