This is really fun, but it was way too easy to get hit by enemies. Overall, Great Job.

Developer

yep, after the jam I’m fixing the hit boxes!

nice game.

Developer

thanks.

Fun puzzle game! I really liked the idea of inverting the games color when you switch, fits with the "two sides theme" but with the black and white made it hard to see, overall very good game!

Developer

i’m going to fix the transition between inverting after the jam, if that makes it any better.

Hey, you did a pretty good job! While the music was pretty neat, you also managed to hit the theme. I notice that a couple of games don't stick to a pixel size, which makes the game look less coherent so I'd encourage you to stick to a pixel size as well. Additionally, it wasn't obvious what pathways I could take since there was no difference in color, which would have definitely helped with the level traversal. However, great submission, overall!

Yeah, I’ve got that feedback multiple times already.. I’m not the greatest artist so I got assets from itch.io for my first jam. Next jam I hope to make all the art!

first off,

second,

Every problem with the game has already been said. But there's one thing that i don't see in the comments is... dat music! It's unironically amazing and it's the easiest 5/5 audio i have ever given.

Developer

Thanks!

First of all this game is very good for one being ur first jam and two being 13! Very good job! I would say that the player art needed to match the style of the game a bit more but over it was fun to play. I liked it! Very awesome job and also good luck on your game dev journeys! (btw I am 13 too and my first jam was last year when I was 12 ... LD 46 I believe and oh my, your game for your first jam at your age is GOOOOOOD) (also 13 GANG! lol) But like I said before good luck on your journeys, great entry, great job, and keep up the good work!!!

If you want check out my game... feedback is appreciated but its all up to you. Hope you enjoy if you do so!

Developer

I’ll have to check your game out!

For a first jam, this is very good, nice work! I liked the art and the use of the preexisting assets, and I did like the music and sounds. I do wish the plot were integrated a little more (maybe with some lava?). Everyone's already mentioned the slippery controls, so I'll skip over them and the fact that the idea could've been used a little more.

The problems I ran into were mostly in the art, actually. While the art itself is pretty good, the color flipping was way too abrupt and hurt my eyes, same with the white flash that happens when you start (or restart) a level. I also ran into a minor glitch where the death animation played again when you were hit while the animation was playing.

I also ran into a weird glitch in one of the earlier levels (I want to say level three?) where the doors let me through without having to hit a button, making the level much easier.

Despite all that though, the game was still overall very good! You definitely have a ton of potential!

Thanks, I’ll have to check out the minor bugs and look into making a smoother transition between inverting colors (also might change the flash to black, I think it’d be easier on everyone’s eyes?).

Movement was incredibly slippery. I've played a bunch of the jam games now and I've seen a bunch of games take a similar approach to the theme, but I think you did a really good job with it by choosing to invert the levels colors. That was clever.

Developer

yep, I’ve said it in every comment and I’ll say it again:

definitely going to fix movement after the jam :)

Also, thanks!

really good game, one thing: i didn't see the purpose of the two sides (also im 13 too)

Developer

yeah, I definitely rushed the core idea..

Very good game for a 13 year old. Nice work! I really enjoyed your game.

Developer

Nice game!
Pls Rate Mine also

Developer

thanks, i will!

I will say, the idea of the two sides could've been done better, as it is more of just a visual change with a door on it, but for a first jam well done!

Developer

yeah, I saw many more unique core concepts than mind, I’ll definitely try thinking outside of the box for the next jam I do!

Honestly, for a first jam you really did very well. I guess that you know about your game's limitation, so I'll just point out that the audio seemed to be absent of the web version of the game (but there wasn't any problem with the zip one), and when I disabled particles I couldn't enabled them again. Also the controls felt a bit soapy, but this isn't a big deal at all.

I need to add that the core idea of the game is really interesting! Overall, you did a good job, so keep up the good work :)

Developer(+1)

thanks! I’ve already started thinking about ways to fix these issues. I was actually deciding whether or not to make floaty controls or not, which is odd because floaty = bad. Anyways, I’ll fix it after the jam as well as the other feedback you gave. Thanks for playing my game!
