Fun game with a simple premise but challenging gameplay. :)
The only slight annoyance I had was that the enemies can spawn practically on top of you, meaning you pretty much instantly get slammed off the stage. I didn't find I could use the movement functionality all that often as I found myself surrounded by enemies too quickly - I ended up traversing the stage with gentle "slams" instead.
Good work!
I loved it!
It’s very simple but very fun to play! And I’m very bad at it!
I’m not sure WASD was necessary as everything could have been done with the mouse only.
Thank you for this whole lot of fun!
WASD felt pointless, since you can just click to move fast to doge.
Thanks for the feedback.
Yea, I debated taking out the WASD controls but I decided on leaving them in because I do think playing with WASD + mouse does play a bit different than mouse only.
That being said I may remove them in the future, need to playtest more without them.
Really neat game with great juice in the gameplay. Did feel a bit out of control when you got to later levels as youd get stunnlocked by all the enemies, other than that great little experience :)
It was a lot of fun to play.
Pros:
- It was fun to play, I kept wanting to get back in there and get revenge every time I died
- The high score is nice, it feels good to try to beat your high score
- The movement of the character was very responsive and the slingshot mechanic felt good to use
Cons:
- It was really difficult really quick and there wasn't really anything I could do about it at one point, you kind of just start getting bullied by AI after a few levels
- Some music would have been a great touch
Thanks for the feedback!
Yes, I see what you mean. Unfortunately I caught a bug after submission that doubled the player's knockback distance.
Additionally, the decision to ramp up the enemies per level was to try and make sure most players got to a point where they could chain attacks together (the most satisfying part of the game, imo).
That being said I think these things in unison made the game too frustrating too quickly.
I'll likely publish an update with a smoother difficulty curve after the jam concludes!
Nice game, maybe a bit too hard.
Really like it, some background music would be cool but other than that everything is spot on.
