Track description | Creative process
I love the game and it was a blast trying to create a track that could fit the original soundtrack.
This track is intended as an alternative take of the Coral Riff boss music, so I wanted to make it groovy with a big importance on the bass and the brass, without forgetting the pulse of the kick to help the players. I also wanted to add the voice of the boss in the style of the original soundtrack, since it already plays all the instruments with its tentacles, what about singing?
I hope you enjoy my take!

Cool Rythym! I love the bass line and how is integrated with all the parts. This song got all the ingredients to be in the OST.

Thank you so much!

Hey Federico! Your track is definitely one of my Top 3 favorite submissions!
I enjoyed the upbeat bass and brass along with the cheeky vocal melodies to complement.
Solid work and keep it up!

Developer

Thank you! I loved the OST so much while playing the game that I was happy to have a chance like this!

Man, what a wonderful mix! I liked every aspect of the presentation. I loved this City Pop take on an 80s advertisement in a pixelated game. Each instrumental presentation is in its proper time, the two main sections have their roles well established and, I never thought that some colors would match so well until I heard your piece.

Congratulations!

Wow, thank you so much! This time I worked on the structure before anything else, trying to give every instrument I used its space and role, I'm glad it worked out fine.

I love the BIG entrance of the percussion and brass in the opening! The bass is super funky and has great presence, and the elements of the OST in the voice and other synths make it very cool!

Developer

Thank you, I appreciate your feedback!

Love the opening, great percussion and brass! The bass line is great, and as someone already mentioned I hear elements of other parts of the soundtrack (the shopkeeper songs) in the vocal parts. Very cool take!

Thank you! I tried to implement all of my favorite parts of the OST, not only the ones from the Coral Riff track, glad you liked it!

Dang! I wish you could have natural vocal instead of those, that sound a bit to computer-generated like at some time.
But well that's hard to do/get!
The vocal do add some originality and fit really well with the ambiance you builded.
Great work!

Thank you for your feedback! I actually started using real vocals, then with some hard cuts, pitch modifications and fx I tried to get close to the vocals used on the original OST, so the artificial sound is what I wanted from the beginning.

Very cool to insert some vocal lines in there, good job

Developer

Thank you, I always thought the vocals were the funniest part of the ost!

Love the shopkeeper inspired vocal chops. The instruments sit well in the mix and the composition is excellent!

Developer

Thank you! Listening to the shopkeeper adding his vocals the first time I played the game is my favorite moment.
