The pieces by themselves are fine, even good, but it kinda doesn't feel like it meshes well together. I like the maps, they are pretty interesting, and the driving kinda feels like a driving school simulator, except a bit more floaty, but... I dunno. The kb controls didn't feel that great, the PS5 controller is detected, but not all keys work. Gear 2 and up feel kinda uncontrollable.
I think you almost have the mechanics in place, and I like the map, but the moment I shift gears - turning is no longer an option, and Gear1 is kinda boring.
I think this can be a good start for a driving sim, but needs a more polish
The voice telling you where to go (?) is annoying, I would prefer an onscreen minimap.
Backspace for rewind is kind of an unfortunate binding when playing mouse+kb, as one hand has to be taken off its usual place. I personally would like Mouse4, but not everyone has that button, so perhaps F for rewind?
the mouse controls should REALLY be off by default. they are extremely jarring compared to wasd imho
sometimes i have a weird bug when i rewind while running at full speed, when i stop rewinding the car (or the game) goes at twice the usual speed, but it fixes itself when i rewind again.
Brakes feel too ineffective and the car is extremely understeery.
Steer assist off still seems to intervene and corrects away too much of any oversteer I manage to achieve. Also refuses to turn the wheel at points (low speed under braking for example).
Weight transfer influence feels very weak to the point I’m not sure if there’s any at all.
Also whenever I’d expect wheelspin the engine seems to bog down instead.
First used keyboard steering, mouse doesn’t capture and sensitivity seems speed dependent which I couldn’t get used to.
Also tried gamepad, and with it the steer assist finally stays off. Much better when it’s not completely fighting my inputs but my complaints about brakes, understeer and weight transfer remain.
Could also use a hold to restart key and remembering the camera choice. Pace notes seem solid.
battydev also complained about weak brakes, maybe I need to increase grip, that would also help steer more.
did you play on the blue tarmac(map 9)? it has a lot more grip and thus braking and steering are both `stronger`
can you elaborate on your expectations of weight transfer? right now the behaviour that I get is an increase in steering when you lift from the gas and a good chance of oversteering when braking slightly. braking hard causes understeer.
very strange that the steer assist won`t stay off for you, I can`t reproduce this...
Didn’t try tarmac. On weight transfer, I don’t think I could manage to do a scandinavian flick. I think the benchmark would be if you’re able to flick into an almost reverse entry into a hairpin without using the handbrake. Maybe weight transfer is fine and it’s the way power oversteers (don’t?) work.
It seems cool but I can't really play with mouse controls and not having the cursor captive to the window. Trying to steer sends the cursor to other monitors. Feels like the gears need to be changed way too frequently. Having you need to change gears but not having a R one and reversing with S is very confusing (what is gear -1 anyway).
Nice game! Steering with the mouse is interesting but I wouldn't enable it by default, it feels weird at first. I see with some practice how it could be superior to using keys.
Was a bit confused by the control setup, but managed to get steering working with my mouse. It felt smoother than last dd, although not sure if thats just my imagination. Glad to see the foxgirl again!

Drove a few very serious rounds. Still enjoy it.

Cheers
I can respect the genre and effort put into it, but I suck at driving without a full peripheral.
i had a crash once while picking map 8.

I took me some time to figure out why my controller doesnt work
Please make the default presets, no one will use mouse steering with connected gamepad
Aslo put the camera rotation on the right joystick
When I arrived to finish nothing happened
Anyway driving while listening to copilot was fun
