wickedly dark and disturbing. there's a subreddit called 'weirdcore', and the vibe of this game fits right in there. i guess a further exploration might change the variety of types of notes and passages and other little mindscrews.

quick, fun and effective!

Thank you very much! I have heard of weird core, but I don’t know much about it.

it’s basically just a very surreal, distorted media based aesthetic. your game is very much at home there. https://aesthetics.fandom.com/wiki/Weirdcore

An interesting and unique experience. I did stumble a bit getting through it, but I think playing with the player's perspective and the game's reality like this is super cool. This kind of abstract, surreal storytelling is perfect for games as a medium and I would love to see more. Neat stuff!

I don't get it. I don't know what the number means. I don't know what the doors are meant to represent. There doesn't seem to be any way I can interact other than reading the notes and seeing them get more distorted...

Developer

I am sorry. The number is just the room number, opening different doors take you to different numbers. The goal of course being to get to the bed. The game slowly distorts as you lose everything, this being primarily your memories. The notes distorted shows this fact as everytime you sleep you lose more of the note. The only interactables in the game are the doors, notes, pictures(there is only one found after a puzzle), boxes, trapdoors, and of course the bed. The story due to its premise is made to be formed from you implicitly putting stuff together instead of explicit information. I thought the gameplay was pretty clear, but I guess not for everyone. Again sorry

The way the door puzzles work is really intriguing; I was definitely drawn in to working out the patterns. I like how the sound and colors distort with every subsequent level, and the way the notes get more and more blurred over time.

I do think more effort could have gone into the graphics though.

Developer

Thanks! Graphics have been something I have been struggling to get down for awhile, atleast this time I didn't use every color under the sun!

Wow Zion, nice!
It took me directly and I was IN it!
It's very deep, if you let it get you...
Thank you and "until next game :-)"! :-)

Thank you very much! I hope to make more games like this in the future. If there is anything you think I could improve, please let me know.
