What do you like about your game?
I'm very proud of the new techniques I learned while making this game, both in terms of code, art, and game mechanics. It's my first time trying to make original and interesting battle mechanics, and I learned a lot in implementing it into the game. I also wanted to play with a more experimental art style, and forced myself out of my comfort zone when designing the visuals, which I think turned out very nice.

Very atmospheric. Great art. I’m not sure if I understood the combat. I first hit the key once while it was shown. This dealt less damage and gave less healing than the butterfly was dealing to me. So, it was impossible to win a combat. However, I found out that the game allows you to press the single key multiple times, and the combat instantly became very easy. Pressing a-a-a-a s-s-s-s quickly eliminates any butterfly on your way, and it doesn’t even get a chance to react.

The game is beautiful! The music is a banger as well! Here's some feedbacks for the game:

  • There's no tilemap collision so I could walk through every object
  • During combat, when an aberration hits 0 HP, the fight kept going until my attack combo is over

The combat system is cool and I think it has potential! Well done!

The game looks amazing, and I especially love the Ale's character portrait. Aesthetically, using real life photo's to represent the Aberration's creates a great juxtaposition between the creatures and the world around them. The music is also great and adds to this feeling, but the game could have used some sound effects for attacks and sacrifices. The gameplay is kind of stale, and can be broken easily. Read below for how to break:

When the key options pop up, you can spam the button and kill every enemy (including the final boss) with a single attack. You don't even have to look at the key, since you can press all of them at once. Also, there does not seem to be object collision in the over world. Still a great game, for what was made in 2 weeks.

Ahhh I can't run it in my browser because it kept crashing my page (mac L) so I don't wanna give an unfair rating, but from what I was able to see, the art is GORGEOUS and I really love the music you added!! I wish I got to see more of the story though :( Any plans for a downloadable export? Maybe for mac?

Had to comment because this game was too cool to pass up arrghhh

Developer

Thank you so much for your comment! I'll put up a downloadable export for mac tonight and let you know :)

I don't own a Mac, so let me know if it works or not! Nothing is changed from the Jam version.

Lovely art and gorgeous visuals. I liked the idea behind the gameplay, would love to see it tuned and balanced a bit. I did eventually work out I could just press all four buttons at once for every prompt ^^; - was genuinely sad when the boss music didn't loop. Great track.
