Is there a way to kill the enemies? So far it seems like they latch on to me and I have to dodge their swords every turn?

Developer

Yeah, sorry it’s confusing. You’re supposed to hit space and then move the target over an enemy to shoot at it

Pros:

  • Nice procedural generation. Felt like there was plenty of variety between levels.
  • I really liked the combat mechanic you added. Adds a new layer of depth to the game and has lots of potential for doing cool stuff.
  • Very Rogue Like
  • Good choice of art style. Fits the game well.

Improvements:

  • Needs music or background ambience sound.
  • I found the use of [X] to go down strange. It would be good to allow for the [S] key to be used.
  • The choice of combat mechanic is good. However, it could do with more fleshing out (multiple swords, move in different patterns, etc.)

Bugs:

  • Enemy got stuck in my character at one point.

Overall, a good attempt. Congrats on submitting a game!

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! I really appreciate it

I found the use of [X] to go down strange. It would be good to allow for the [S] key to be used.

I agree completely, I started with it because it was what I remembered a lot of games using last year, and I kept leaving this exact feedback (to make it an option) but I ran out of time. This year all the games I’ve played are using [S] :)
