Yo this is a very impressive little game! Took a while to figure out what was going on, but once I did it was fun and rewarding to play. Crazy what you can pull out of pico-8 if you know what you’re doing :D

Thanks for the comment! I encountered various PICO-8 limitations in this project (source code size, CPU performances, etc.) that cost me too much time, so it was definitely not the most appropriate tool for this game jam. But I still like its coziness :)

Yay great to see another Pico-8 game! This is in incredible amount of detail to cram into a game in only 7 days, bravo. I found a game a bit overwhelming, there were so many systems and game mechanics all happening at once. I read the description before playing and again whilst playing and still didn't feel like I knew what was going on. I think it would help new players if the mechanics were introduced more gradually over the course of the game. Great presentation. The dissolve effect on the menus was really cool, and I liked the colourful Pico-8 graphics and the cool music. The theme of the game was really cool, I liked the idea of being a slime escaping a lab, it reminded of The Ooze for the Megadrive.

Very nice, like it a lot, understanding how vision worked took a bit but it was neat once I understood it.

Thinking about and discovering use cases for splitting was interesting.

Atk speed stat is slightly hard to understand as is how armor works(it seems to not be a flat damage reduction).

A more obvious and clear hp displays could have been nice, or you could have just hidden it entirely and made vision the only info you get, it being there but needing to "work" to get the exact number is somewhat annoying.

Thanks for the kind comment!

Armor is a flat damage reduction with some adjustments when the armor is greater or equal to the damage (with 20% chance, the blow is avoided and with 80% chance, the attack inflicts 1 HP). I agree that the game is difficult to read though. I wanted a minimalist UI (due to the limited screen size) but it makes the game more difficult to grasp.

You can hover a blob to know its HP :) It's now written on the game's page thanks to your comment.

"You can hover a blob to know its HP" Exactly, moving a mouse over the blob is "work" I wished it didn't show the hp or the hp number was always visible.
