Nice pixel art, very fitting music. I've made the same mistake in my first platformer in my second game jam to not make the walls frictionless so that the character will fall down instead of getting stuck, so I know the feeling very well. Keep it going.

Fun game! Graphics are lovely and atmosphere is great. However the hook mechanic is a bit janky and the hat takes way too long to return :p Nevertheless managed to rescue all the sailors :)
