Hi Polyspice!
Thank you for the recommendation, I will definitely check it out :)
Have a nice day, and good luck!

The daily challenge idea is very interesting, I will consider it!
And the leaderboard is something I'd really want to add once the base game is fully polished and it actually feels fair to compete for high scores/stats etc.
Thanks again :)

haha I've been trying my best to listen to the feedback I got, much appreciated!
stay tuned, and thanks for playing :)

Thank you, Supcig :)
I am trying to do as much as I can, and huge thanks for the tips from your earlier comment <3
Have a good one!

GEOGON is now playable in your browser for free!

Play now: https://dslevi.itch.io/geogon

While getting the web build out I also snuck in a few quality-of-life updates:

  • Full keyboard navigation — menus are now navigable with arrow keys, Space/Enter to confirm, Escape to go back. Controller works too.
  • HTML5 build — exported via Godot 3.6.2, runs on Chrome, Firefox, and most modern browsers
  • Progress saved in browser — your scores, achievements and profile carry over between sessions

This is still v1.0 -  more updates planned. If you run into any issues with the web build specifically, drop a comment and I'll look into it.

Play free: https://dslevi.itch.io/geogon

Feedback always welcome. ♥

Thank you for the feedback!I am going to update the tags as you suggested, really appreciate it!
I checked the page of your game, and I am definitely going to give it a try :)
Keep up the good work, and good luck! <3

Thank you for playing!

Stay tuned for the updates B-)

wow, it’s mind blowing!

congrats mate!

Thank you for the positive feedback! :)
The development of the game is still in progress, but there is already a downloadable and playable version that has all the core mechanics. Would love to hear more from you if you feel like giving it a try!

Hope you’re having a nice day.

That's hilarious mate haha
And really glad you like the game!
I tried to put much thought into the development, and keep the game mechanics straight-forward.
Thank you, stay tuned <3

Thank you for the kind words and constructive feedback!
6 more levels to go then haha
And glad to hear the tutorial is clear, as much as it's a simple game I thought clear instructions are needed to get started!
Stay tuned for the first update, it's coming soon!

Thank you :)

Hey everyone, I hope I am on the right community discussion page!

I just released my first solo project, GEOGON: a precision arcade game inspired by Super Hexagon. I've been working on it for about a month and just published v1.0.

I'd really appreciate any feedback on:

  • The game page  does it communicate what the game is clearly? Is anything missing or confusing?
  • First impressions  does the page make you want to try it?
  • Anything else  pricing, tags, screenshots, layout

I'm aware the page is fairly minimal, that's intentional, the game itself has the same aesthetic. But I want to make sure it's working and not just sparse.

Page is here: https://dslevi.itch.io/geogon

Any and all opinions welcome. Friends and family are kinda biased, I need a reality check. ♥

I've tried the game and it's a very fun concept!

I honestly think it has potential, for the core gameplay you have a solid foundation, I do think though that the game would benefit from more gameplay complexity, like unpredictable events that stir up the gameplay a bit!
And my record on easy mode is:

I survived 174.3 seconds before being killed by my own ghost 👻

I just released my first solo project: GEOGON, a precision arcade game somewhat inspired by Super Hexagon.

Place shapes, place bigger ones that swallow the area, hit targets, score points. Simple concept, surprisingly hard to put down. Playtesters warned me about the tetris-effect. They weren't wrong.

This is my first one-person project, so unbiased feedback means a lot! Friends and family tend to be kind to a fault. If you give it a go, I'd love to hear what you think. Comments, tips, and honest opinions are very welcome. ♥

I remember playing your game, the atmosphere was so spot on! It's super good!

We are really happy that you liked our game, hope you had fun playing it!

Thank you for playing, and for your kind words, we really appreciate it! <3

Thank you for the feedback and for playing!

We intentionally had to reduce ammo regeneration rate as the game is not supposed to go on forever, and with faster relaod there is a good chance that players would be bored before the run could finish.

It is a bit punishing, but makes you really care about those shots and not missing them! :D

Thank you, we hope you had fun playing our game <3

Thank you for the feedback and for playing!

Originally we intended to have a short tutorial/explanation scene but we decided we'd spend that time instead on fixing/testing the main gameplay and mechanics, but your point is very reasonable and true.

Have a nice one, cheers!

Thank you for playing our game!

Sorry to hear the issue, and thanks for pointing that out, hope you still enjoyed playing and had fun!

We had much fun recording the sound effects! And we had the feeling that it should add a lot to the game feel in general. There are some super goofy ones though which take a bit of the seriousness/edge of the game imo.

Thank you for the kind words, cheers!

We have used a shader to get some glowy-outlines on sprites for better visibility, but yeah other than that everything was born during the jam, we are quite proud of the result!

Great to hear you like it! Cheers!

Thanks, yeah it's somewhat a mixed-style game, really happy to hear you had fun playing it!

Thank you, glad to hear you had a good time playing!

Thank you for your kind words and trying the game, we did put our heart and soul into it, so really happy to hear you liked it!

Im so surprised how such a simple mechanic can be so much fun and challenging!
It's a cool game, and the music/sound effects/visuals are complementing each other very well!
Nicely done!
