Tim Bannock rated Old School Stylish

A downloadable game.

Having only recently discovered Knave, I was on the hunt for similar old-school products that took the concepts of older D&D-style games in a largely class-less direction. And Old School Stylish does not disappoint! In fact, seeing how well it added both (1) a class-less variant to OSE and (2) a really elegant and fun "job ability"-type mechanic in the vein of Final Fantasy and other JRPG games, all without fundamentally changing the game-balance in the player characters' favor such that monsters and other challenges were ruined, I was elated.

It really does what it sets out to do in a way that works. Better yet, combining other games and hacks like Knave or The Black Hack with Old-School Stylish seems like a cake-walk. I can't even think of any conversion work that really needs doing: the first 3 pages of the book cover the concepts so well that they are easily portable to those games (and others, like Mausritter and Maze Rats, I'd assume) with no work.

I'm really looking forward to using this in my campaigns immediately.
