Overall I enjoyed it, but I wish the writing had been a bit tighter. I was very confused on the lore--still no real idea what the Sendings are, even with having found all the extra books--and I'm not entirely sure about the themes. There were a lot of instances where I thought stuff happened too fast, and I really wondered about all the townsfolk being so enamored with Alex.
I understand that not every LGBT story has to have an HEA romance, and yes, unrequited love is a thing... but it felt strange to have history repeat itself, as it were. It felt extra strange when Jake seemed to be the one flirting with Alex at first?
Maybe I just went into it with the wrong expectations. I don't have a problem with bittersweet/tragic endings, but somehow it didn't really fit in this one, for me. Maybe if I'd understood what the rest of the game was trying to say, or how the supernatural stuff worked in conjunction with Alex coming out.
