"Butcher Valley" has to be one of the best horror games I've played in a while! I've been looking for a game that really tickled my fancy like this. It almost gives me the same feeling I got when I first played Bulb Boy.

The game begins where we follow Nora The Human and Louie The Fox, two best friends that are always going on adventures, but their fun is short-lived when their car breaks down in the middle of the forest in Butcher Valley. As they search for help, they find other strangers stranded in these woods, all standing by multiple shrines mounted with "delicious" cake. Strange. They follow these shrines into a neighborhood where one family invites them inside. Little do they know, their seemingly generous deed comes at a dangerous cost...

First of all, one of the things that impressed me the most was the artstyle. It looks like a combination between pixel graphics and paper cut-outs, which gives this game it's own original character design and unique aesthetic. I know the characters are human, but boy do their mouth and body movements make them seem so effectively unsettling and disturbing! I also really enjoyed how we got to get a closer look into the antagonists, learning a little more about each individual in the family, and finding out what makes them tick. Secondly, the dialogue between Nora and Louie is so funny and relatable, it makes them instantly lovable characters. Lastly, the fighting scenes were very fun, it was slightly challenging, only just a little bit repetitive, but once you get used to the controls, it gradually builds up to the ultimate final boss.

In conclusion, this game is amazing. It's very well polished, I could definitely see people buying this game on Steam or on other platforms. Even though the game ended on a perfect note with reasonable gameplay length, I wished it was longer. I know the developer hinted that, "Let's just say this isn't the last we'll see from Nora and Louie!" which hopefully means there's a possibility of seeing something around the lines of a Butcher Valley 2- I can't wait!
