i haven't been able to stop thinking about this work since i read it for the first time. i've read it three times since then. it's absolutely incredible. the way it's structured so scientifically and the tone is so methodical yet the visuals are filled with such chaos that are contained within these thick black borders, the way the point of view is not with our main character yet our narrator IS biased even when the tone implies their neutral omniscience, the fucking last line of, "He pities the men, but our Subject sides, we suspect, with the dinosaurs." it literally took me out like. i had to take a BREATH. this poem is so well-crafted and it will stick with me for a long time.
