PublicLewdness rated Gravity Bone

A downloadable game for Windows.

Gravity Bone is an oddball game that makes that work for itself. You are some random agent of which we know nothing about. Your sent to perform random tasks such as deliver drinks and photograph birds and given no explanation as to why. Nothing makes much sense but I enjoyed it because of the wacky nature of the game. The graphics we’re interesting. The people all had block heads but the object detail and environments were normal and well done given the engine and release date. The music was awesome and gave the game a certain frantic energy. I won’t spoil the ending other than to say it was fantastic and had a surprising amount of meaning to it. The game play is pretty much exploring to find objects then finding the exit, simple but enjoyable.

In played Gravity Bone on Linux. It never crashed on me and I didn’t notice any glitches. The game has nineteen graphics options; four AF options and Vsync. The game allows you to manually save whenever you want and has nineteen save slots. There seemed to be a built in FPS cap of 84 FPS regardless of whether Vsync was on or off.  Alt-Tab works. Performance was usually very good but had a few drops to as low as 57 FPS that lasted a second or two.

I could ask of more from Gravity Bone. More story; more missions; etc but the game is free after all. Not just free of cost but it also uses an open source engine and the code has been released as well. I finished the game in fifteen minutes but I will say it was an enjoyable fifteen minutes and the game managed to make me a fan in that short time.

My Score: 8.5/10
