Hi, I like your fangame, so I thought I'd write a review of the positives and stuff that needs working on.
The graphics. The weapons, player and enemies are good. Especially the reflections on the bolter. However, in some places the map looks washed out. If you added more lights that are perhaps baked in it would improve the looks of some areas of the map.
The models. Again, the weapons, player and enemies are good! in some areas, the map is pretty good - just needs texturing - but on closer inspection some areas appear to be made up of blocks/voxels. Terrain/buildings are hard - I've tried it - but it could be a longer term project there.
The textures. Briefly mentioned that earlier. The smaller objects are impressive. Unfortunately the buildings are untextured (texturing is quite hard. I struggle with it in Blender sometimes.).But hey, the smaller objects are really impressive!
The gameplay. What you have is decent. I mean, sure, it's a bit basic in places, but I understand this is very much a WIP and you're not a AAA company.
I thought I should include a list of smaller fixes and maybe longer term stuff which would improve the experience:
The guns need muzzle flash. The exploding effect of the bolter is a neat touch and works, but as you move the bullets look a bit odd. In real life obviously bullets don't move with you, but some muzzle flash would help make the effects better.
It's nice to see a progression system! However, it doesn't really seem to do anything. Again, this is hard to implement but I thought I'd give an idea for this. Levelling up would take longer (much longer) but would carry over games, and you would unlock wargear on certain milestones.
It would be nice if the map was expanded and some kind of complication added - perhaps obstruction like in COD zombies.
Also, texturing. I understand this is difficult though...
Keep up your good work! Please keep working on it. If you need I might be able to help. For basic stuff... maybe. I have some experience in Photoshop and Blender, although I'm a bit rusty. I could also help render stuff. I mean, I only have a mid range laptop and mid range PC, but extra systems could help.
Edit:
I'm a dumbass and the progression system does carry over. There is some stuff I also forgot. The melee animation definitely need work. Also when using melee weapons for some reason the hitbox isn't great.
Again, it's early days, but something for the player to work towards would really add to the playability/replayability of the game. It could be something really simple, like a boss fight, a cinematic or some sort of extraction. Also the bolter clips when you shoot while ADS, and the accuracy is still pretty much the same whether you hip fire or not. Finally, the player could also be customised (I have no idea whether this is easy or not) and could also be tied into the progression.
