Mushies chat, make friends, and each has a job to do, which makes the village feel alive. The pacing is well judged: just as I wondered what to build next, something new appeared. I enjoyed breaks such as swimming to collect dewbells. The Elder's tutorial moves at a good speed, and the game is intuitive enough that you can skip him after a run or two. The game spells out exactly what you'll lose before you re-shroom. I still hesitated, but curiosity won, and the reset felt meaningful. The art is a highlight. The music is gentle, bouncy, and fun, and it matches the village's easy rhythm.
