Yttreia rated Byte - Desktop Pet

Yttreia rated a pet 54 days ago
A downloadable pet.

(Uhhh... TL;DR: pretty cool desktop pet thing, but has a bad glitch and needs a bit more dev time.)

It's one of those desktop pet things but it's NSFW and has two modes, basically an active mode and a passive mode.

In the "active mode", you drive basically everything, you click fake ads to earn money and items, you buy items from the shop if you need specific items, you give items to the robot, or you can merge some items.
The "items" being lewd things like dildos, summon items for some monster to appear and fuck her, and viruses to make her more lewd, of course.
Money is earned passively, though you can speed things up by actually playing the game's content. As far as I can tell, the first time you naturally find a specific item, it unlocks it in the shop.
There's also some shenanigans you can do with the robot's terminal, lots of secrets there to mess with.

In the passive mode, it's a full desktop pet thing and she just kinda wanders around interacting with items automatically. Not much to say there.

As for issues, polish is a big one, the game's loaded with little teeny annoyances and quirks, like clicking the items tends to be unpredictable sometimes, some items match the color of the merging glow so it's hard to tell when something can be merged, I could go on.

The BIG issue is the gallery. For some unknown reason, the dev has the images coded to open in some exclusive fullscreen mode like some 90s PC game instead of being in a window, which then changed my monitor's mode and flashbanged me at 1 AM when my screen's default for that mode was 100% brightness when I normally have it at 0%. Just going into fullscreen without permission like that is total BS and needs to get yeeted off this mortal coil, ASAP.
To make it worse, this mode switch thing was then so forceful that I think it broke some Windows/Nvidia setting somewhere that then made all media that isn't the game double in brightness. Must be some HDR setting, I think.
Even after closing the game, the graphical issues were still going on and my task manager said the Desktop Window Manager was going in overdrive, so I logged out of my PC user account and logged back in to fix it. Spooky.

Annnnd just a minor personal nitpick: I wish there was more variety in the base content. I think a good amount of content is locked behind some secret somewhere that I didn't care enough to look for after the whole gallery thing, but the base content is 90% vanilla and 10% feral. The only real variety to spice things up is that a couple items include cameos, like one for Kazooie and for... Kit from Gameoverse. LMAO.

If they fix the gallery to NOT fuckin' switch to fullscreen mode, I'll bump this up to a 5.
