At the time of this review, the core gameplay is pretty in-depth and enjoyable with many things to encounter and collect, but the experience is hampered by a few technical and balancing issues that will hopefully be worked out in future iterations.

The gameplay is enjoyable and has many different things to encounter and items to collect. The schism between the explorative nature of the game and the ever-looming threat of gremlin invasions creates a unique tension that forces the player to operate under a time crunch and continue to support the base before the next (and more dangerous) wave of enemies arrives.

The enemies spawn very quickly during raids, seemingly without an upper limit, but due to the i-frames of the player and the base, they don't become any more dangerous. Instead, you can easily defeat the clusters of enemies and clear raids in a matter of seconds.

A current technical issue causes elements of your base to despawn entirely instead of remaining on the floor to be recovered when they are destroyed off-screen. This discourages complex base designs and further incentivizes the creation of small, highly defensive bases that are easily replaced.
