Immaterialise rated As We Know It

A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

couldn't really get into it

i don't know why but the game felt very... 'clinical' to me. like, each individual component of the game - writing, music, art - they were all 'ok' enough, but none of it merged together very well. so the whole thing felt sterile; the game presented you with some text and a character portrait and some background music, you clicked, then the game presented you with the next bit of text and the next character portrait and maybe some new background music.

so... i guess i'm saying it just felt like you were reading a recipe instead of being drawn in to a narrative. "here's the first ingredient" -> next -> "this is how you prepare the second ingredient" -> next -> etc etc. just an endless scroll of instructions

i have no idea if that description will make sense to anyone else but that's what it felt like to me
