Jas rated Serenitrove

A browser game made in HTML5.

This is a progression-based digging game. The visuals are pretty generic and there's no story. The buildings that let you access upgrades just kind of randomly appear on the surface. I would've liked some flavor to accompany the gameplay.
The game is decently strategic because you can dig down but not up, so you have to think about when to drop down a layer. There's also strategy in using consumable items and searching for certain ores to get upgrades you need. There's also quite a lot of progression mechanics, and it's fun to choose which one to prioritize. The game is still pretty slow overall though, you'll have to dig quite a bit to progress and most of the digging becomes routine after you figure out the basic strategy of handling stamina. Reaching the bottom of the map mostly depends on your upgrades but there are some builds that can let you get there with lower-level gear. Overall, Serenitrove is a pretty simple implementation of a digging game, decent but nothing special.
