Blocklock City rated Minit

A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Cute little game with a lot of heart and style.  Unfortunately, the omnipresent time limit per "life" that forms the core of the game and its title ultimately doesn't add anything to the experience except... a time limit.  It feels good to figure things out and pull them off within 60 seconds, but the first time you play you'll be spending more time running around trying to figure out what you need to do, which is where the time limit goes from being something that enhances the feeling of accomplishment to an arbitrary annoyance.  It does go away after you beat the final boss, but at that point all you can do is trigger the credits.

The timing of the very first task you have to do in Second Run is so tight that I immediately stopped playing.  I know there are a lot of people who enjoy the simple act of facing up against and eventually surmounting a big challenge, but I honestly don't find Minit fun or interesting enough to justify the artificial difficulty imposed by its core gimmick.
