I genuinely don't know what to say.  An incredible look at grooming as it affects adults.   Marisol is also so fucking uncomfortably real, as a character that is a compulsive liar to herself, and represses over anything.  A system that caught a crack but isn't able to fix it except by just paving it over.  Dr. Rose using techniques that are both obvious enough to the reader to be clearly grooming, and subtle enough that is completely believable someone as vulnerable as Marisol wouldn't see them.  And the fact she does see them, recognizes them, understands them, but god what else can she do but ignore them.  If Dr. Rose is bad, then what hope does she have, that's the one source of comfort she's had her entire stay.  Also the descriptions of the hospital bring me back to my own stays in the hospital, that awful sickening citrus cleaner smell... god.  just.  play this game.
