A downloadable game for Windows.

*spoilers cause I'm not sure if itch displays these* I liked it! The story and writing was entertaining enough, but the pacing did feel a bit too brisk in some places. I felt certain details about the world and lore weren't as fleshed out as they could be... but at the same time, it does leave a lot of things left for the player to figure out themself, and I personally thought that was part of the fun! The sentinels, for example — what are they? Why are they so hell-bent on preventing the MCs from leaving? From what I was able to infer, I believe they were created by Claire to prevent everyone from escaping  wherever they've been imprisoned. Then there's the issue of Matemna, who left a lot of unanswered questions by the game's end. As I understand it, she's the one who set this whole game up? And she plans on making Freya her successor once she wins? It also sounde like Claire had to play this game once too, and won... but then Matemna did something to her. I dunno, perhaps these questions could be answered and explored more in-depth in a sequel? Regardless, I  immensely enjoyed seeing these characters interact with each other — hopefully we get to see them again in future projects!

Some other notes: the puzzles were solid affairs, though there weren't many to begin with. Finding all the endings was almost a puzzle in and of itself. Reaching the White/Gold endings felt especially satisfying since you are required to work through the other endings first. The pixel art/CGs were gorgeous, and the music? Really good stuff. Might've been my personal highlight, actually!

I suppose if I had any other critsicisms to give... I found a lot of weird bugs that weren't game-breaking, but just... weird. For example, in the top left corner of the game, the mouse's x and y coordinates are displayed. This isn't a bug per se, but it is... weird. In the achievements menu, the icon for getting Mia's end was always lit up... like I mean always. And no matter what, that is the only achievement I can view. When I get a different ending, that achievement icon will light up, but clicking on it won't bring up the  description. Getting another ending also erases my proof of the previous ending's achievement from the menu. Not a big deal, but still — you guessed it — weird.

Overall, solid work! I enjoyed my time. 7/10
