MUGEN HYPER EDITION Review

This game has a lot of potential, but it also has several issues that hold it back from being truly enjoyable.

First, I experienced a game freeze during battle, and even pressing F4 didn't reset it. Having to force-close the game is never a good experience.

The character select UI needs improvent. The character potraits on the select screen are misleading because many of them don't resemble their actual in-game sprites at all, or is. It would be much better to use the actual charcter sprites so players can immediatly see what each character fully looks like. The color selection system could aslo improve. Rather than pressing diffrent buttons and hoping for the right pallette, it would be more user-firendly to have a system similir to super smash bros, where you can preivew and select a color beforehand before starting the match.

The battle controls are probably my biggest issue. With so many diffrent characters and abilities, it becomes confusing because certain buttons work on some characters but not on others. Simply watching the AI fight doesn't teach players how to use a character properly. The game would greatly benefit from an in-game command list or move guide that explains what each button does and how every character's abilites work.

The game does feel a bit unbalansed, where some characters are way OP than others, or have more power, should stabalize that.

Why does the girls have dicks? Maybe also add a male female symbol for players to know what organs they charcters have?

Another problem is the adult scnees, Many of them look unfginished or improperly configured. Sometimes one charcter becomes invisible, the animations don't align correctly, or it looks like the characters are interacting with empty space instead of having properly physical contact. it feels like too many characters were added before these scenes were fully polished.

Would be nice to also not just select a chracter, but also select the enemy's charcter on arcade, if players want random they can choose that, instead of always having to fight a random charcter, I like my dudes.

Personally I would recommend focusing on around 20 well-developed characters first instead of having 147 chracters that vary heavily in quality. The large roster is impressive, but it also seems to be the very reason why some parts of the game lack strucutre and polish.

Controller support also needs to work. Some of my controllers felt janky and incorrectly mapped. I only got a comfortable setup by using my steam input configuration tools, or using my Nintendo swtich without steam input. Not evey player has access to that or know how to fix these issues themselves.

That said, the game still has potential. The huge roster and stage selection are impressive, and I would love to see futurre improvments, perhaps even online multiplayer support someday. With more polish, better tutorials, improved controls, and a stronger focus on quality over quanity, this could become a much more enjoyable experience.

Verdict: Not recommended in its current state, but I belive the game has the potential to become something great with further updfates and improvments.

Also maybe add option to toggle on off sex scenes for players who wants to enjoy the game at it's core.

PS: Love you added characters from One Stormy night, and Kuromaru since I'm gay.
