The art is so charming, and you can really tell the author loves this story AND had a ton of fun writing it because I was smiling ear to ear the whole time.
Character dialogue is natural, each character has a very distinct and clear voice.
While the BGs are WIP that didn't really diminish the experience at all because there's still lots of little details that come through (Basically everything in Deros' interview, all the lion iconography).
The music fits each scene. A handful of really neatly-placed sfx. The number of typos is small and not disruptive.
My main gripe is the character sprites are SO LARGE that when they're all on screen at the same time it gets cluttered. Fortunately the sprites jump to the front of the scene when they have dialogue.
The plot so far is very lighthearted, there's some implied sinister stuff (The letter) and I'm curious about the world.
But the star of the show is, again, the art. The sprites are really, really, reaalllllyyyyy neat. Dynamic, expressive, much like the dialogue each character has a totally different sort of vibe and atmosphere that matches their personality. The cgs are also very cute and very fun. I like the Enchanter, they've got a fair bit of personality.
I hope we see a unique textbox, like with a fantasy-flair, it feels like It would add a lot to the experience! But that and the occasionally crowded scenes is about the extent of my gripes.
AS OF RIGHT NOW the vn is lighthearted, charming, very cute, playful, I'd probably call it 'low-stakes' (but I don't think it'll stay that way), and a good way to spend some hours.
I'd give it 4.5 if I could, some minor polish related nitpicks, but ultimately I really look forward to reading more. I found it fun and playful, and it made me smile, and that's what I think matters.
