In Pyre, Supergiant Games continues their trend of offering a superb gameplay experience. The hallmarks of their craftsmanship: excellent soundtrack, engaging narrative, and lush visuals, are on display here once again. I was drawn in by the lore, which unfolds an epic tale of redemption and hope (and is well written, too). All the more impressive, the cast of characters is likable and fully-realized without animations and voiceover dialogue. More than once, this game made me put down the controller and think very hard about how my choices would impact the story, and the ending gave me chills.

Oh, and it does this all while weaving a message about the benefits of literacy and diversity. A+, 10/10, 5 Stars
