Let me start by saying that I think I really needed a game like this. I've been a little too much in my own head as of late and exploring the island of A Short Hike made me the most relaxed I've been in a while. Before I knew it, I'd spent three hours on this game, no regrets.

The artstyle makes for beautiful vistas that you can glide past and explore for money, golden feathers, other misc treasures. There's a ton of friendly characters that you can help out or that help you out. It's clearly inspired by Animal Crossing, but that's not a bad thing!

The music also complements the game world very well, with soothing tunes and some a little more dramatic when the moment calls for it. I love how the music fades in and out as you glide past the island, and the moments of silence are also well-placed.

In short, A Short Hike is a game you should definitely play if you just feel like getting lost in a comfortable place, and finding your way again at the end.
