I've always loved role playing games that aren't based on fighting system and even more the ones that flourish on a small starting concept to create unique atmospheric experiences. As a young game designer myself, it's the kind of game that I love to make the most, and therefore, to play. This game really nailed it, I love everything from the base concept of the burning, which is very powerful, to the rules that gives your group the liberty you need to make the experience really yours. I have a special feeling for GM free games and the way it’s done in Into the Flames is very interesting as it really serves the ambiance and narration. I really like the way players go from character to deciding figures as their pilgrim disappear. It creates a really interesting dynamic and avoid the problem of ousted players, waiting for the game to end. There is also a take in the game on inclusivity and making the playtime fun for everyone and that’s really nice and often lacking. I really like the use of “moves” to help the more reserved to contribute.

TLDR : This game is a gem, quick to learn and super accessible. Original and cool atmosphere. I love it and I can’t wait to test it in different settings.
