Love match 3 games. One thing I love about the game is that it values a match that's made in two directions at the same time. I always found that's one of the most satisfying matches to make and the puzzle quest games do not care about them.
I only have two minor complaints. 1. the controls feels like they should be more fluid, faster. Other match 3 does this better. But there's the strategic reason for why they are this way. And due to the frenetic pace of the game, it demands that moving the pieces be a deliberate decision. That worked for Dark Souls.
2. Some stages have too many pieces of the same primary color. Like white or red. Considering the pace of the game, I think there's a need to improve legibility, maybe shift the monsters around, put them in different stages? The art direction of low definition pixel art seems to hurt the game in this aspect.
If this game is like rogue, where the enemy only moves when you move, this could be solved, but I like playing it in a frantic way better.
