I played The Power for the first time in, I think, 2010/2011? Was my first Metroidvania. It had such a big influence on me in terms of making me realise I love the kind of atmosphere this game has.

It has a real "liminal", "lonely" feel that makes being a lone explorer so interesting. The music and sounds prop this up with their cyber-like feel and the simple, yet mysterious, story combines with the environment of the planet to elevate this feeling further.

The gameplay is simple in the best way possible. Responsive controls, classic Metroidvania progress with new items, distinct environments, and fun secrets.
