Brownie rated PICO-8

Brownie rated a fantasy console 95 days ago
A downloadable fantasy console for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

I made a topic on Itch (and even reddit) about this but I experienced a pretty bad glitch on this version from itch which is why I'm rating at only 2 stars. That rating is SOLELY for the itch version.

When I installed Pico-8 from the itch desktop app it seemed fine until I tried to save/load and find my project files.

The `folder` command didn't do anything. Saving and loading "seemed" to work but only for the session.

I looked into it and found that I didn't have a lexaloffle folder. It didn't get created not matter how many times i restarted and even uninstalled/reinstalled the engine (from itch).

Things stayed that way until I went to the official website and installed from there. Now I have a lexaloffle folder. Only after installing from the official site.

I don't know exactly what happened but it seems to be connected only to the version here on itch. So it's only this version that gets 2 stars.

For use in figuring out the problem if the developer would like to check into it : I'm using Manjaro Linux (xfce desktop) on a nucbox gmktec g3 mini pc. I'm using the default file manager for my OS, Thunar, but I also tried the Dolphin file manager to see if it would show the hidden folder. I also tried searching for the folder in the terminal of my os, I tried navigating with the cd command and even tried the ls and nothing worked in the itch version. The version from the official site however works perfectly (I tested each of the things I was struggling with in it).

I hope this problem doesn't occur again to me or anyone else and gets solved in the future. Paying $15 dollars for a game engine that doesn't save/load properly isn't exactly great..

At least the official site version works properly and I have the necessary folder now.
