A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Regrettably, I don't enjoy this game - despite the number of its merits. It's fascinating, suspenseful, & to a point, engrossing. Unfortunately, on the gameplay aspect, it just isn't fun. The beginning's jarring with a lack of direction (which may be intentional with the game's tone, but I found it offputting). I could say the same on the lack of background & info. Given how it plays, you can't defeat the enemy - you must run. That's not to my taste, unfortunately. Levels often contain numerous places to search for loot & supplies, but again, you don't have ample opportunity to search everywhere, you don't have time. Again, I don't enjoy that.  Personally, I like to thoroughly explore &/or eliminate foes - by design, this game doesn't let you do either. That doesn't make this a bad game - just not my cup of tea. On the other hand, the random types of survivors you start with & encounter are very interesting. As others have said, attachment - especially to survivors in the party since the beginning - is kind of surprising, given the very light dialogue & lack of background (excluding a couple sentences per character). The game feels very interesting, but the vagueness of it all keeps it just vaguely interesting. Nothing more, nothing less.
