GwynevereAppreciator rated The King's Hound

A browser game made in HTML5.

The story is really good. It starts kind of simple, but, perhaps, it has to, to introduce the setting to the player. Still, a few intriguing plot points are presented early on that keep your interest as you keep going. As the story progresses, it becomes hard to predict what's gonna happen next. Imagining yourself as your character, you're always a little on edge. But that's exactly why it's so enjoyable to read.
The amount of choices and therefore control over the story is pretty limited. It's not the kind of game like Telltale's ones. But considering that this is being made by one person, who already written around 50000 words (holy shit) it's entirely understandable. Also, it's completely free.
The writing itself is very eloquent. The choice of words not only fits the setting, but enhances it. As a non-native English speaker, I often had to use the translator and a dictionary. Not complaining though.
I don't know the direction the game will take, but right now it looks to be a pretty good "dating sim" (the medieval way) with a nice character progression. But what interests me more and what the latest story is hinting at is a slight turn to more of a medieval political sim.
I'm intrigued by this and look forward to future updates.

Also, I thought that the name choices for your character are a Dark Souls reference, but when the game didn't allow me to make my character 30 feet tall, I realized that they're not.
