A downloadable game for Windows and macOS.

I really wanted to love this game... the metaphor it stands for (at least what the fandom and I have theorized about) is AMAZING - the idea of losing all your friends to addiction one by one through various means is horrifying, but I have complaints nonetheless. I thought the symbolism was far too subtle. I'm a big metaphor / symbolism lover, and I look for it in everything I play. While it made sense to me after reading many of fan theories, it sucks that I couldn't find out in game. Maybe with one or two more transparent voice lines that make the player realize "oh wait, there's something happening" would I love it more. The art style feels much different than the usual investigrave games, and it's very hard to get attached to the characters (in fact, I barely remember any of their names).  I also hated that this game was a side scroller. Just personal taste, but it felt like a walking simulator and I couldn't interact with my environment at all. Not to mention the story pacing felt really odd. Everything started slow and all of a sudden all our friends are infected with this mystery ocean brain washer ?? I was too caught up in trying to understand what was going on, on top of my other complaints, to even think further into what this game might be trying to achieve or what message it wants to tell. Unfortunately, due mostly to personal reasons, it's my least fav of the games so far. I'm gonna give it another play through and see if my opinion changes, however. Don't knock it till you try it, I've heard positive reviews on this too and honestly it depends really big on person to person !! (It's a free game after all, no harm in giving it a shot if you have the spare time)
