I'll jump right in since it's getting late!! The game is calm and goes at whatever pace you feel like, which has always been something I've found really charming and nice about the creator's stories. They're easy to hop back into if you get distracted for a bit, so you can do laundry or whatever and come back no problem
Surprisingly (for me at least, I have such a short attention span I forgot the title was literally "drowning, drowning"), this game's plot was more serious then what I was thinking, but it wasn't unwelcome. Even with the heavier tone, it never weighed down the lighthearted feel of the game if that makes any sense. The game was melancholy but with so many sweet moments that it was easily able to keep from making me cry. I've been emotionally beaten down by games before, and this is very refreshing compared to some big title games that have parts to make you feel sad just bc they wanna make people feel terrible.
But!! I also have to agree with a lot of other reviews and say it's not long enough. I really wanted to know what Maia's backstory was and what brought her to this point, but it doesn't go into detail at all.
In other news, I've convinced myself that I'm pretty bad at writing reviews at some point while writing this. All I think I really need to say is that I had a good time playing this game and it doesn't hurt to try it for yourself!!
Now I'll excuse myself so I can see if there's a writing class specifically for making game reviews.
