zhansonic rated Mantigeist

zhansonic rated a Failed Experiment 230 days ago
A downloadable Failed Experiment.

It's a little underbaked - it doesn't have any recommended player count, and it doesn't seem like Google Drive supports the functionality to move and create files in a shared folder without signing in. The game could use some more playtesting.

I played it with 8 players total, and the survivors were too powerful. The machinery was fixed too quickly for the mantigeist to do anything about it. The fundamental contradiction of the game is that it makes more sense for the survivors to split up to fix more machinery, but the mantigeist struggles when players are split up, because it's pretty obvious when you attack a lone player.

How are player starting positions determined?

It's not clear whether Vulnerability lasts for the turn it's applied and the turn after, or two turns after the turn it's applied, and the rules contradict themselves on whether Vulnerability "drops off" or whether it has to be healed.

Having attacks be after the 5 minute hijack phase really slows down the game.

A template for a common map tracking everybody's positions is sorely needed - a lot of my players struggled with keeping track of coordinates.

Other quality of life improvements: each "LOG" document should be labeled with the player's name to make things easier for the mantigeist.
