This game is excellent. Intriguing sci-fi worldbuilding, absolutely gorgeous art (seriously some of the best on the market), beautiful character designs, talented voice cast (AND we were spoiled with full voice acting), and an interesting perspective on navigating love through difficult situations written thoughtfully and well.

My only real criticism is that sometimes it felt a little too "therapy-ized." I was very glad to see the emphasis on consent and communication in a genre that has an absolutely criminal dearth of either of those things, but it could have been dialed back just a bit in some places. It felt almost instructive or textbook-y sometimes, which broke immersion for me. Consent can sometimes be enthusiastic but still nonverbal, and I feel that the writing at times didn't take advantage of ways other than somewhat dry back-and-forth conversation to establish where everybody stood. The dialogue in general, even not related to the symbiant or sex scenes, was a little dry in places and could have used a little more digging into making it truly engaging. The characters felt a tiny bit superficial, only developed as much as they needed to be to tell the story.

Still, this is a very minor criticism compared to what is overall a beautifully-done game.
