it started out putting the protag in a dark fairytale spot atmosphere esp the way the house/world looked grimy supported by that gloomy death reveal. in the short span of spent time and interactions with Mr. grim-named weird Hedrik-reaper, unexpectedly warmed up to him quick despite literally scaring a child to death on a few occurrence. the rest of the journey was surprisingly a breeze, wholesome, and natural funny without forgetting to tying up some loose ends, Cammy unravelling through the complex of mother's love. the whimsy-gloom vibes and their dynamic almost reminded me like a nostalgic mix of Little Misfortune, Undertale and ib. loved the emotive expressions, plus the way Cammy tackled against her mother's some wrong behaviours called out reflecting off the reality that Cammy actually experienced in contrast to her mother's views. was adorable how their sprites were drawn too; merry smol Cammy and big scary Hedrik lol
