Phoenix rated Succubus Kingdom

Phoenix rated a game 1 year ago
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android.

Extreme amounts of (often poor spelling/grammar, to boot) unnecessary wording in place of actual content; you'll find your character 'thinking' for what feels like several minutes while major things are happening and they aren't reacting at all.
To put it in other words - events are dragged out razor thin instead of writing in actual content to fill the time. Spamming your mouse click becomes necessary to feel events progress at all.

As a result, the game is - as of this review - not even out of the tutorial stage, and the developer is already shilling Patreon.

The player is also tightly railroaded through the scenes, and any choices presented aren't developed at all. To boot, they lie - you are told to tell the truth, are forced into lying, then punished for it. Repeatedly.

The cherry on top is the developer starting the game with a long-winded 'explanation' of... how to read text on-screen, highly insulting your intelligence, and very contrary to the nature of adult games.

I sincerely hope all this changes as the game progresses. Currently it is very disheartening, and does not make me want to follow its progress.

If things do improve in the future, I will be glad to return and redo this rating.
