I was very much looking forward to this demo disc, as I do every year since this began, and I can say I am not disappointed, at least not too much. There are always hits and misses with each disc, but that is not what I took issue with, in fact my issue is entirely a subjective point. The museum and the advancement from that to the mall drew me in due to the atmosphere. In the case of Flipside Frights, that feeling is gone, for example, when I first walked into the Lorns Lure section of the museum, it made me excited for the game, the launcher areas had a charm that is unmatched in my mind. While the launchers themselves were not so focused on in the mall, the exploration was worth the experience, even without the games taken into account. What they went for in this disc worked, the executed it well, I just don't fancy it myself. This and the first demo disc share a strange issue, why bother coming back after the first time? While a good hub to find demos, they don't update, which a solo demo can, and the extra space they take up isn't worth it as it just fancy menus. In the end, I enjoy the execution of what the devs wanted, I just don't share in the enjoyment of their vision. Still another good entry, and kudos to toughing it through the issues they experienced before launch.
