Flirting with the line of what is too uncomfortable (for me), Pale Carnations tells a compelling story of a MC struggling to walk the line between the morally right and wrong.
From a story (and moral) perspective, I appreciate how most of the more uncomfortable sexual scenes within the walls of the Carnation Club are rarely described in a positive manner by the narrator. Though it is clear that the rich clients revel in this level of debauchery, I am not sure I could personally stomach this type of story if the narrator encouraged / celebrated it.
As a reader who enjoys a MC with a hero complex, I appreciate giving the character the opportunity to 'fix' the Carnation's problems. I only hope that as the story progresses there can be a 'happy' ending for all carnations. I do appreciate that there is the 'choice' to 'go bad', so to speak, but I probably would never experience that side of the story, personally (so can't exactly comment on it).
Graphically, Pale Carnations is a top notch AVN, with the renders and animations all smooth and cohesive. Not much more can be said regarding this.
The only real complaint I have is regarding the UI and the text within the Android Version:
1. Within Settings, with only icons and no text description, the options for "Display" and "Skip" are kind of convoluted. Which are skip unseen / skip after choices / skip transitions? Leading into the 2nd complaint, I'd also appreciate more options for the text. Such as Text Opacity and perhaps text size (especially important for Android, where the text is often times clipped at the bottom of the screen).
2. In the Android version, there are often long sentences where the text is cut off at the bottom of the page. This leaves it nearly impossible to read without going to the next set of dialog and then opening up the backlog to read the previously cut off dialog.
