I only discovered Adult Visual Novels recently, and I quickly had to adjust my expectations. Most of the productions I tried has an adolescent feel to them, at all levels.

Not with Maid and Maidens, despite its questionable punny name, and it's a breath of fresh air in the genre. Characters are fleshed out, have a life outside of their relationship with the Main Character, and not all of them will fall head over heels for him, which feels right and makes the actual romance opportunities more meaningful as a result.

The dialogues are also very well written, with a subject depth in multiple areas that shows the work that went into them. The choices are also well thought out, with an accent on consent, both from the characters and from the player themselves, which removes bad surprises that sometimes taint this kind of game.

The scenario branches are diverse, after my first playthrough where I was able to forge my own path, I was able to explore the rest of the possibilities more freely, and there's something for everybody.

Even the sex scenes felt right to me, with a lesser accent on voyeurism which makes them look more natural, less pornographic, improving realism without making them bland.

The only downside I found to this game is the general mammary hypertrophy which all the female characters seem to be suffering from. Given the general diversity this game intently exhibits in all other areas, I wasn't expecting this kind of obsession for breasts which size only ranges from massive to enormous, but in the end it's mostly fine. The game text doesn't insist on it which can sometimes be annoying,
