AidenJacks rated ECOPUNK: 2044 (Free Version)

A downloadable game.

I am writing my review for the free version as I have yet to purchase the full version, thus I cannot share my opinion on the worldbuilding (Part 3)

A very good TTRPG that reminds me mechanically of other indie titles like F.I.S.T., Nights Black Agents/GUMSHOE, Jamais Vu.

All of its mechanics are quite easily explained and very conductive to roleplay. Every roll matters because even on a success you expend dice to roll. Counting them up as a finite currency transforms Attributes & Skills into more of a resource management game.

Fortune as an all-encompassing stat is really fun because it serves as both mental, physical and "societal" damage - get too much Heat from the authorities and your Fortune might just run out - being so abstract, you don't count up damage to a possible death, but to Crises, which lead to specific debuffs depending on the situation at hand.

This game strongly feels like what Cyberpunk RED wanted to be early on in its inception: its focus on environmentalism and scarcity is complimented by its gameplay loop: you can take "political damage", you fight against a corrupt, polluting system, you aren't just living a life of crime in a cyberpunk setting.
