This was a really cool attempt at reviving a terrible classic! I think you captured the general vibe of that game and had some valiant attempts at modernizing it.
I do feel like the dialogue is a little undercooked though, the characters here feel a bit perfunctory and lacking depth (even more so than the original game). The game also feels like it's stretching out too much - the tactical turn-based combat is kinda cool, but ultimately it's too light to provide anything interesting. It's very much "find the ants, attack them, heal". Finding the ants was not very fun and took a very long time. The ants did not have any abilities or goals other than "wander" and "attack" once they've locked in on a character. I'd say a lot more depends on who's in your party than where you've positioned your characters on the map. Maybe a JRPG-style turn-based combat would have worked better there?
I did like the injuries system though, and the flow of the game overall felt pretty smooth. Nice work!
