Black Mass is an immersive and thematic game that puts the players directly into the characters' shoes. Everything from the design and layout to the word choice to the gameplay is set up to make you feel what the characters feel and how they change throughout their journey. I'm an especially big fan of the system for shifting the tone of the game, leaning in or out of horror and violence to suit the needs of the players. In this way numerous people can all enjoy the same game without having to sacrifice their own comfort.
